The process of identifying, attracting, interviewing, evaluating, hiring, and on boarding personnel is known as recruitment. Or to put it another way, it covers everything from identifying a staffing requirement to supplying it (SmartRecruiters, 2021).

A variety of workers are responsible for recruitment. Larger companies may have full teams of recruiters, whereas smaller companies may only have one. In small businesses, the hiring manager may be in charge of recruitment. Many businesses use recruiting tools to find outstanding applicants more efficiently.

What is the right recruitment process?

Figure 2 Recruitment Process

The process of getting from a job description to an offer letter is referred to as a recruitment process. It contains the initial application, screening (by phone or one-way video interview), face-to-face interviews, assessments, background checks, and all other elements necessary to make the best hire available (Workable Technology Limited, 2012)

An effective recruitment process will ensure you can find and hire the best candidates for the roles you're looking to fill. Not only does a fine-tuned recruitment process allow you to hit your hiring goals, but it also enables you to do so quickly and at scale.

There are 10 important steps to getting the right candidacy, as below.

How to use recruitment to get a competitive edge

        1.       Create a value strategy for your employees.

        2.       Make the transition to flexible recruiting.

        3.       Outsource your recruitment process to gain              competitive advantage.

The first stage is to develop a job description and advertise it in locations where you know you'll be able to find individuals with the required abilities. It's vital to figure out which activities the recruit will be responsible for and whether or not you'll be able to train them. Many good employees will choose to work for a company that pays a bit less if it offers benefits like health insurance or retirement benefits. Get a sense of the market, set a budget, and look for a candidate that fulfills the job's skill requirements (Leonard , 2019).
